Yamaha Gas Golf Carts are the top of the top in my opinion. Remember the opinions here are all independent and based on a decade of sales and service on golf carts. Yamaha gas golf cars started with a 2 cycle cart called a G-1 in the early 80's. After that they changed the Gas Golf Cart Game when they made the G-2 Yamaha in 1987. The G-2 yamaha has a 9 Horse power Engine and the power to do about anything the only draw back was the outside of the yamaha get's damaged easily and the rear shocks and springs are weak compared to other golf carts so rear seats will require an upgraded suspension.
In 1989 Yamaha Gas Golf Carts made minor changes to a G-9 in which it was really just more stylish. It changed the trim to all black from silver as well as the steering wheel and steering column.
In 1995 they came out with the g14 Gas yamaha Golf Cart. This was a wonderful golf cart with the only draw back being weak clutches which continued through the yamaha years. Outside of that it still held a 9 horse power motor.
In 1998 they took a step forward with a g16 which made a different engine all together. Now with a 11 horse power engine instead of a 9 hp. It made the yamaha have the strongest engine out of all of the Gas golf carts. a Drawback still was the weakness in the clutches long term.
In 2002 Yamaha Changed the Sun Top and the Clutches to be a little better and called it a G22. The sun top was the real main addition. in 2007 Yamaha Came out with the Yamaha Drive Vehicle which so far show no draw backs. |
